Bend your knees and place your feet on the wheel. Then, press into your hands as you lift your feet off of the wheel. Be sure to keep your core engaged as you hold this pose.

Returning to starting position, you can now try doing king pigeon pose on the yoga wheel. Start by sitting on the wheel with your back against it. Bring one leg in front of you and cross it over the other thigh so that your shin is resting on top of your opposite thigh. Place both hands on the floor behind you and slowly lift yourself up until you are standing. Keep your chest open and look forward as you hold this pose.

Once again, be sure to return to starting position before trying another pose. Remember to take things slow and easy when first starting out.
